The Georgia Center for Bariatric Surgery is an independent medical
entity, which provides surgical treatment as a modality for the
treatment of obesity.
Dr. Celio O. Burrowes is a board certified surgeon, the founder of the
Bariatric Center and a proponent of the Fobi Pouch Operation for
obesity, although other obesity operations are preformed through the
center. The benefits that are gained by coming to the Center for
Bariatric Surgery is the combined experience in these surgical procedure
that goes into managing your care. We discuss all surgeries before,
during and after the hospital course.
The center for Bariatric Surgery collaborates with three main hospitals
in the area to provide your surgical care; Northside Hospital, Crawford
Long Hospital, and Atlanta Medical Center. Various specialists/
consultants are used by the center as needed to provided the optimum
care needed. These included Anesthesiologists, Cardiologist, Infectious
Disease, Urologist, Gynecologist, Pulmonologist, Gastroenterologist,
Hematologist, Vascular and Plastic Surgeons. These are all independent
specialists.
The Center is available to all patients who have had operations through
the Center, seven days week to help you resolve any problems you may
have.
We see walk-in patients at our office but we prefer that you make an
appointment, if at all possible. This facilitates and organizes the care
patients get when seen as scheduled by appointments.
The Georgia Center for Bariatric Surgery is dedicated to promoting
Health and wellness for the morbidly obese patient. We have many
patients who have traveled to the Center from across the country for
their care, therefore, we do arrange for lodging and accommodations for
our surgical patients who are traveling long distances; this service is
free of cost.
Our wonder staff is available to assist in scheduling appointments and
answer any questions you may have, and to assist with lodging and
accommodations for patients traveling long distance.
